A REPORT ON THE HIGHER LIFE CONFERENCE UK 2011 WITH PASTOR CHRIS
It was a special season of revelation and power once again on the 26th
-28th of August 2011 in the United Kingdom as people came from all over
the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, and even as far as Southern
Africa and beyond to participate in the Higher Life Conference with
Pastor Chris.
A unique aspect of this meeting was the fact that it held across two venues -
the Wembley Arena and
the Excel Centre
– both in the United Kingdom. Both venues spanning a distance of about
40.1km apart were shaken to their very foundations by the eager and
expectant crowd as they filled up all the seats in anticipation of the
remarkable moments to be experienced during the conference. How
wonderful!
In beginning the Conference which spanned 5
enlightening sessions, Pastor Chris gave a brief explanation of the
different kinds of meetings such as the Night of Bliss, which is an
outreach meeting directed to winning souls and ministering healing to
the sick. But the Higher Life Conference he said, is directed to the
Believers even though several people give their hearts to Christ during
such meetings. The Higher Life Conference is a series of meetings where
the word of God is taught to help the individual Christian come to a
place of knowledge and maturity in the word; where he can walk in the
glory of God as the Lord planned.
Pastor Chris further taught on
the importance of change by the word. According to him, human beings are
dynamic creatures and explaining further, he posited that people need
to grow, change and improve their lives to excel in their journey in
life. A positive change is not necessarily what everybody gets, some get
bad changes, but every one really wants a positive change. Many times,
many are not sure what changes they need, the beautiful thing about the
word of God is that the word tells you what changes you need, how to
effect those changes; the word in itself is a change agent.
The
man of God led the eager congregation in songs of worship to God, and
asked for them to be translated to French, Hungary, Greek, Dutch,
Finnish and Romanian. It was an entertaining and yet inspiring moment
for the congregation as these songs were sang in these languages.
Quoting the declaration of King David, “
what is man that thou art mindful of Him?” the man of God asked the congregation – “
Why
does God love us so much? He's so great! The Lord is so marvelous,
maybe you've never thought about it. Our minds can't figure Him out.
He's too great. What He means to us and what we mean to Him. 1 Corinthians 1: 30 helps give us the right thinking that God will like us to have”.For
most of the world, Christianity is one of the world's biggest religions
but they are wrong, Christianity is not a religion at all. Some made it
so, that's why some people think it's so. The relationship between
parents and their children, is it a religion? The congregation was
seeded with the word of God, as Pastor Chris shared on that Christianity
is based on the Bible - the word of God. “If you don't believe this
absolutely, then you are not yet a Christian according to the Bible” he
emphasized. “Until you accept, acknowledge, confess and profess that
Jesus Christ is your savior, and He came in the flesh, died as your
savior, God raised Him from the dead and He's alive today. Other than
this, no matter what you think or say, you're not a Christian according
to the Bible. Why is this so important? Because the life that the Bible
talks about is made available to those who believe, confess and act
accordingly. This is the basic foundation of Christianity”.
Pastor
Chris also pointed out that some people think that the Bible is archaic
and irrelevant today, but this he said was a wrong thinking due to lack
of understanding of the Word.
What does Christ mean to you? Who
is He to you? For a lot of people He's our savior and Lord, how many
people know what these mean? The man of God asked and by this he read
from the book of
1 Corinthians 1:30:
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us:
1. Wisdom2. Righteousness3. Sanctification4. RedemptionChrist means all of these things to those that believe in Christ and have been saved.
Making reference to
Romans 10:9, Pastor Chris further pointed out two things required for one to be saved. These are:
A. Confess with your mouthB. Believe in your heart“There's no other way for one to be saved. Why is it so?” the man of God asked the congregation as he continued with the teaching session
“remember that God made us, He knows exactly how we ought to function and He tells us how this works”. And with this, Pastor Chris made further emphasis on
Romans 10:10:
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”.Man's
heart is created in such a way that when he believes, he's made right
with God. Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for
righteousness. Pastor Chris explained that to confess means to say the
same thing in consent, in agreement. You're not just reciting, you agree
with your heart. When you make the confession, you're catapulted into
salvation. That's the way it works. With the heart man believes and with
the mouth confession is made that automatically catapults one into the
arena of his believing.
God makes whatever he makes by his word,
God created the world by His word. When He speaks, it comes into
existence. We function in the earth and that's why we make confessions.
When you confess, you bring God's word into the earthly realm.
During
the course of the Conference, Pastor Chris also took time to explain
the need to be happy as a Christian. According to him, every child of
God has the right to be happy, prosperous, healthy and strong.
“Every
Christian has been commissioned to bring the world to the glorious
liberty in Christ and if you're not happy, how will you make others
happy?” he asked.
Pastor Chris concluded by adding that as
Christians, we live in the presence of God, because we have been
brought into His presence through our relationship with Christ; we have
been born into His presence. We live there! Therefore, the consciousness
of the presence of God should be a daily reality to us. As a Christian,
you don’t come into God’s presence and go out. Otherwise it is not
Christianity!
It was a glorious conference; the participants
experienced exceptional moves of God’s Spirit in both venues – The
Wembley Arena and The Excel Centre - as many witnessed tremendous
miracles and explicit elucidation of the word of God. God's Word came in
its simplicity and as the congregation embraced it, they were awakened
to the reality of the Higher Life in Christ and of course, testimonies
abounded.
Salvation, healings and transformations were received
and the glory of God was tangibly felt all over the vast event grounds.
These meetings indeed changed the lives of thousands forever and the
impact will be indelibly felt all across Europe and beyond.
