A REPORT ON THE SEPTEMBER COMMUNION SERVICE WITH PASTOR CHRIS
One event but different venues, is one way to describe the monthly Communion Service with the man of God, Pastor Chris. A special meeting that holds every first Sunday of the month as members of Christ Embassy churches assemble in various locations around the world in anticipation for that special word of direction from the Lord for the new month.
And it was with this purpose, that millions gathered once again on Sunday 4th September 2011, in an atmosphere of great expectations; saturated with songs of worship and praise, to pour out their hearts not only in thanksgiving for the glorious month of August but also in great expectation for the month of September.
“The month of August, was indeed a special season of productivity, the Lord led us to a special season of productiveness; we have been much more productive, and testimonies abound. It’s a season the Lord himself brought us into. It meant that whatever we laid our hands to do will be very productive, it commanded a bountiful harvest from every effort made, especially in a season when the world is saying there is a casting down, thou shall say there is lifting up according to the word of God. What we are experiencing is a period of upliftment. THIS MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, WE’LL CONTINUE IN THAT PERIOD OF PRODUCTIVENESS…” the man of God, Pastor Chris, announced as the meeting commenced.
“This means that we can take advantage of this and take steps of faith to do whatever the Lord is telling us to do...” he continued.
As the meeting progressed into the Communion segment, Pastor Chris read from the book of
John 6 vs 53-59:John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.John 6:55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.John 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.John 6:57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.John 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.John 6:59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Going on to expound on the scriptures above, Pastor Chris explained that when Jesus said my flesh is bread indeed and my blood drink indeed, many were confused. They wondered “
How can this man give us his flesh and his blood to eat and drink?”The Bible actually tells us that some people stopped walking with Him, some left Him and wouldn’t follow Him anymore, until He said to his disciples, “
Would you also go away?” They replied -“
No! Where hence shall we go? Thou hath the message of eternal life”- because of the words of life which Jesus had spoken to them.
The meeting advanced into an extensive teaching on the Communion as the man of God read further from
John 6 verse 60:
“
John 6:60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?John 6:61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?John 6:62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life,Jesus called his own body - that bread that came down from heaven - and He that eateth this bread shall live forever”.
“Do you remember in the book of
Matthew 26, the Bible tells us from verse 26, that He broke the bread and said
this is my body, which is broken for you. He said, take and eat, and the Bible records that He broke the bread and gave it to his disciples to eat, and also He blessed the cup, saying this is the new testament in my blood, drink it” Pastor Chris explained.
“Something happened that day as Jesus did this, His statement was referring to his sacrificial death. Jesus was a sacrifice offered for us. His body was given for our sake. He said this is the cup of the New Testament in my blood; sealed in my blood. His body was destroyed for our sake, that we may live. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ! The Bible says
He was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquity, the chastisement of our peace was upon them, by his stripes we were healed; with that death dealing blow, we were healed” ( Isaiah 53:5).
Emphasizing on this, Pastor Chris taught that in eating the bread that Jesus broke and gave to them on that day, the disciples became one with Him because they were eating his body; they came into oneness with Him. You have to understand this first, Jesus said “
this is my body, eat it and do this in remembrance of me”. Each time we eat the bread, we don’t get into a covenant, but we do it in remembrance of that one time He did it in the scriptures. The covenant was already done on this one occasion which we read about.
Teaching more extensively on the covenant of communion, the man of God made it clear that the covenant was for a reason. Jesus represented God and man; while his disciples represented first, the Jews and also all men. They all drank from the cup, so it was a blood covenant, because He said it was the cup of his blood. He came into a covenant with his disciples for a reason. The disciples were trembling because they could understand that they were drinking His blood, so He was going to die. The cup of the New Testament in His blood sealed His death.
“
Why did Jesus enter into a covenant with His disciples? It was so that He could give them an inheritance, the Bible says that a will is of no power, until the death of the one who made it. A Testament has no force until the death of the testator. Jesus was the testator and He leaves them in his will and leaves them an inheritance. And one of the things He was going to make possible was to make them free of all guilt” Pastor Chris elucidated.
“The disciples could only understand that He was leaving them an inheritance. Whatever He was leaving for them, was wonderful! But there was something more than what they could understand at that time, which was the real purpose for all of these, but they couldn’t understand. Let me remind you of something that Jesus said in
Matthew 13:44 -
Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is like a man who saw a treasure in a field, when he saw the treasure; he gave up all that he had and bought the field. Why did he buy the field? He did because of the treasure in the field, he didn’t want the whole field, but he had to buy the whole field, because of the treasure that was in the field. He didn’t tell anybody about the treasure in the field, he just said he wanted to buy the whole field, because if he told them about the treasure, how would he get it? He purchased the field because of the treasure inside the field. He gave up everything and purchased the field. The field is the world and the treasure is us” Halleluyah!
“Remember, Jesus said, I have chosen you out of the world. He got us out of the world; we are the treasure in the world. There was a purpose for buying the field, it was the treasure. In the same way, there was a purpose for the covenant; it was something the disciples could not understand at that time. Through the covenant, Jesus died, and when He died, they died also, but they have an inheritance which was the inheritance of the seed of Abraham which Jesus was. But that was not enough, there was more. This is the beautiful thing. God raised Jesus from the dead, and Jesus was born again that’s why God said “
this is my beloved son, today have I begotten you” which means today I have given birth to you.
“When Jesus was raised from the dead, Jesus became the first to be born out of death, and was born again, then He comes up with a new creation, those who believe in Him receive a new life, and they are born again. They are the result of the covenant He made. They are not in the covenant; they are the result of the covenant. They are the treasure in the field He paid for, we are the heirs of the covenant, we are not in the covenant. We are what God was looking for, we are the result of the Abrahamic covenant, and at the same time, we are the heirs of all the promises, no wonder the Bible says “
if ye belong to Christ, then are ye Abraham seed and heirs according to the promise”.
When He says “
except ye eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life in you”. We can understand what He meant. He said,
“the words that I speak unto you are Spirit and they are life”, He also said “this is that bread”, what is that bread? The bread is the word that came from heaven, He told us that his word is bread, and his word is Spirit. With this, we can have a clear understanding of who we are. We are born of the word, and of the Spirit. He calls His word the bread, and also calls his word Spirit. When you are born again, you are born of the Word - “
being born again not of corruptible seed but by the word of God that lives and abideth forever”.
We’ve come from the Word; we’ve come from the Spirit. We‘ve come from that bread. Little wonder why Paul said we are all one bread. He calls us one bread, we are a part of it, so when we eat it, it’s part of us; it’s one with us, that is why we can live in health, and be prosperous 360 days a year, 366 days a leap year; you can be assured of success, you can be assured of victory in this life!” Pastor Chris declared excitedly.
“I want you to know this, Christ Jesus gave all for you, He brought you forth, you are His vision, you are his plan, you are his expectation, and you are His glory. Today as we break bread, and drink this cup, He said do this in remembrance of me. When you understand these fundamentals, your faith is stirred, and soars high, and you can do anything. This world is so small; I tell you there is so much more in Christ”. Wow!!!
And with the participants now having a better understanding of what the communion stands for, the man of God instructed that the communion bread and cup be served in all the congregations around the world.
In rounding up the service, Pastor Chris announced a new application for Yookos mobile and he encouraged all to visit
www.yookos.mobi to download the new application. This application he stated, will enable users have notifications, when new Yooks are released. According to Pastor Chris, Yookos is a platform that the Lord has given us to further reach the world for the Master.
It was indeed a glorious communion service and with uplifting words of prayer, Pastor Chris declared blessings into the lives of the participants and brought the meeting to an end.
