Higher Life Conference: Suffering is unnecessary...Pastor Chris

With distinct flair and panache, the third in the series of the Higher Life Conference with Pastor Chris, started on the 26th of February, 2010. Divided into zones, for ease of administration and crowd control; this edition of the Higher Life Conference was dedicated to the section of the city of Lagos designated as Zone 2.

Earlier in the month of February the Higher Life Conference for Zones 1 and 4 took place from Friday 5th to 7th. Then it was the turn for Zones 3 and 5 from the 19th to the 21st of February. On that Friday the 25,000-capacity LoveWorld Convocation Arena was shaken to its very foundations by an eager and expectant crowd from the Iba Ijanikin, Isolo and Agboju environs of zone 2.

To many, it would be incredulous that this massive crowd reveling in all the applause, yelling and excitement were simply thrilled to be in the presence of God, fellowshipping with other believers, ready to hear the Word of God from the lips of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. In this day of computers, internet, reality TV, Play stations, English Premiership and microwave solutions, it is a miracle that the attention of close to 30,000 people is captured and sustained by anticipation to hear God’s Word.
The speed, with which the lively building filled up, is a fact which probably kept men of the venue management and crowd control strategizing late into the night on how to handle the surge for the following two days of the conference.

The crowd that surged into the auditorium were excited. The inspirational mix of lifting praise and Pastor Vale Odu-Thomas’ declaration that;“This is not an ordinary conference; it is a promotional meeting” revved their enthusiasm a notch higher.
By the time Pastor Chris Oyakhilome mounted the platform at 1810 Hrs GMT, the congregation was ready for the Word.

Pastor Chris said a lot of people go through life suffering, thinking it is their lot because of the nation they live in, insufficient educational qualifications or financial incapacitation. He deposed that contrary to their distorted thoughts, God has called mankind to a life of glory, honour, dignity and excellence.

The Gospel Maverick posits that anyone could answer the call to nobility by recognising, submitting or accepting and declaring the Lordship of Jesus.
 Like the bible days, signs, wonders and the extraordinary took centre stage.  The Ministry of the Word by Pastor Chris built up faith in the hearts of members of the congregation and the result was a manifestation of God’s power.

Healings of all kinds of infirmities began to take place within the arena. It was almost unbelievable yet glorious, the healing line overflowed with hundreds of grateful testifiers.

As the meeting rolled to a close, these assemblages of God’s people continually lifted their hands in praise and thanksgiving for an extraordinary encounter with divinity.
