THE TRUE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPEL
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).
Sometimes I ask Christians, “Where does Christianity begin?” Oftentimes, many are not sure; they think Christianity began from the Cross, when Jesus was crucified. But no; Christianity began from the resurrection of Jesus Christ and was made possible by the presence of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. The true message of salvation is based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This is important because it’ll show you whether or not you’re living the true Christian life or practising religious Christianity. Until Jesus died, it wasn’t possible for anyone to receive eternal life. His death only paid for our sins—the sins of the whole world. So, when He died, everybody’s sin was paid for.
The Bible says God required one sacrifice, one perfect sacrifice, for sins because the blood of bulls and goats which the priests offered every year could not take away sin. Hebrews 10:11-14 says, “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God…For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
His death was only to pay for our sins, but the sacrifice for our sins was not enough; God needed to have something better than that. He wanted us to have a sinless life. That became possible when Jesus resurrected. Remember, when He died, we died in Him. When He was buried, we were buried with Him. When He resurrected from the grave, we were raised together with Him.
At His resurrection, He was born again; rebegotten of God, “God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee” (Acts 13:33). The first begotten of the dead (Revelation 1:5). Notice He’s called “first begotten” because of the rest of us, for as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Romans 6:4 says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
We’re products of His resurrection. When you were born again, you were born with a new life; the resurrection life. This is the true message of salvation. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
Dear Father, thank you for the resurrection of Jesus Christ that made it possible for me to receive eternal life. I’m a product of His resurrection, born into a new life of righteousness, victory and dominion. I walk in the reality of this truth, conscious of the very life and nature of God in me. I live above sin, sickness, defeat and the systems of this world. Hallelujah!
