Be Filled with the Spirit.

“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit:” (Ephesians 5:18 KJV)

A short clip from the New Year’s Message is available on the Pastor Chris Digital Library and on KingsChat. Take a few minutes to watch the video excerpt.

The man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome, taught that, in order to overcome evil with good, we must:

1. Speak God’s Word.

2. Be Filled with the Spirit.

“You can change things with your words,” Pastor Chris says, reminding the congregation that the power to overthrow evil is in their words.

On the second point, Pastor Chris said “be loaded with the Holy Ghost!” Young people no longer have to gravitate towards evil as a source of power, knowing that the greatest source of power in all of the world, the Holy Ghost, can now reside in them by Christ Jesus.

Meditate and Memorize.

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7 KJV)

“That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7 AMPC)

“Don’t drink too much wine, for many evils lie along that path; be filled instead with the Holy Spirit and controlled by him.” (Ephesians 5:18 TLB).

“And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18 AMPC).

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63 KJV).

AFFIRMATION.

I am full of power, because the Holy Ghost lives in me. I am indomitable, indestructible and invincible. I cannot be conquered, and I cannot be limited by circumstances.

I do not have a spirit of fear but of love, power, a calm and well-balance mind, discipline and self-control. I am up to any task and equal to any opposition or persecution. I cannot be drowned or burned!

I dominate my world with my words. Evil does not thrive around me, because I speak faith-filled words that yield life.

I’ve got the life of God in me. The Spirit of God is mingled with my spirit in inseparable oneness, making me a champion at everything that I do. I win always, because the greater One lives in me.
